It is the best system Nintendo has made so far, not counting the NES and SNES, those two systems are on a level by themselves. I ordered Majora's Mask faceplates from Japan. Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer
It has good elements but it also is lacking on the gameplay front. It gets old fast but it does have a lot of amazing charm and some really fun items to play with. Don't expect an amazing game, but for what it is, it's a cute little spin-off entry. I downgraded for an pikachu XL to the Standard N3DS just for the pika plates and other plate, so far its 100% worth it. Love the unit, love the included house plates.
If you own the XL you more than likely noticed its a pain to press that power button. On the regular, the power button sticks out more and has a nice click to let you know how much pressure to use. I honestly feel like the XL power button will wear out over time.

The next thing is the cartridge slot for the games. Ejecting and inserting games on the regular feels better while this might be a minor issue. I feel Nintendo must have noticed this, to address an improvement. Keep in mind since the regular edition is smaller, the A, B, Y and X are slightly smaller as well. The XL wins by a landslide when comparing the loudness of the speakers. This was expected as making a smaller portable, you need to get smaller internal parts.
Hope to get the pikachu plates and the smash plates NoA has on their website sometime soonish and maybe another one for a set of 5 plates to use.
